Hi friend! I’m Cait, your lead photographer, and the owner of Cait Patton Photography. A Lafayette Louisiana native, now local to Central Virginia, I grew up with the true Acadiana Parish Cajun roots: good food, and focus on the importance of family and people around you. My husband and I met through my first ever IT job in 2020, and have been married for going on 3 years. Monday-Friday, I work as an IT Asset and Inventory Management Analyst full time; the “chaos coordinator” if you will, for the State of Virginia. A full time job that requires serious attention to detail.

Despite my centered profession in the technology field though, photography has always been a passion of mine. I took some classes through middle and high school, but I really zoned in on following my heart after shooting my first wedding in 2022 for my sister in-law. It was me and a 2009 Sony against the world (with my husband’s support of course). Since that day, planning and having own wedding, and my passion for documenting meaningful moments, stories that will pass down to future generations, I knew the direction I wanted to take with photography.

After 2023, I hit the ground running and never looked back; building my portfolio, investing in being mentored by my very own wedding photographer and professional I look up to, Desiree with The Joy Collective Co., learning about the business side of things. Dedicating time between my personal life and full time role, to perfecting my style editing, working with beautiful friends I have met and been honored to serve, even practicing by capturing random photos. in 2024 & 2025, photography went from a hobby straight into sacrificing weekends, closing one laptop and jumping to another for meetings and consultations, practicing, traveling with my husband to different bookings, creating a wedding photography service built around honesty, intention, preservation. Serving couples, families and beautiful people, providing a personalized experience, focused on what matters to the couples we encounter, delivering sentiments that tell beautiful love stories through intentional, and personal connection.

A journey that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world bookended 2025 with exciting, and honestly kind of intimidating growth. I expanded my services from Central Virginia into Raleigh-Durham-Greensboro and surrounding areas for coverage, welcoming my friend, Cade, as a partnered associate photographer for weddings. Cade and I connected through mutuals in the gaming community. After a few weeks, I learned about Cade’s shared interest in photography, and I was thrilled to have befriended someone who also enjoys photography, no matter the niche. Sharing our work back and forth, I immediately noticed his talent and eye for intentional details. I brought up wanting to find someone one day who could work with me as a second photographer for weddings while editing and hanging out in Discord. At the time, he made a comment about how he would be interested in that role in the future. Needless to say, I kind of took that and ran with it, and we are both beyond excited to get started and serve couples across Virginia and North Carolina together.
